Asian Nostalgia
The series consist of voyeuristic photographs taken in both the most crowded, touristic places in Southeast Asia and others in between. It uncovers the unseen, often overlooked side, accentuating different perspectives from what might have been the typical snapshots. Some photographs highlight the coexistence of religion and tradition with daily routine, creating a sobering sense of equilibrium between them.
“Nostalgia” can refer not only to longing for something we experienced in the past, but also to one's vision of a distant, mysterious place. In this series, even though the photos aren’t typical touristic snapshots, still they remain a subjective diary of a journey to distant lands.
